Senior Pastor Dr. Donald McKay

Dr. Donald McKay is the pastor of Bloomfield Hills Baptist Church, a church known within the Metro Detroit area for having strong biblical preaching and dynamic worship.  Dr. McKay joined Bloomfield in May, 2008 as the senior pastor. Prior to that he had served as the senior pastor of a baptist church in Windsor, ON Canada for 15 years where he gained national recognition for his stand against Islam. Beside serving as a pastor he has been a radio and television host and a college professor. Currently, he is the president of the Bloomfield Hills Institute for Theological Studies, a Bible school for lay people.  Dr. McKay was ordained into the ministry in 1993. He has a B.A. in Biblical Studies from Biola University, a M.A. in Theological Studies from Talbot Seminary (La Mirada, CA) and a Doctorate from Liberty University (Lynchburg, VA). He and his wife Rhonda have six children.

Children's Ministry Director Cheyne Jarnol

Cheyne has a passion to serve families, primarily those with younger children. She is our Children’s Ministry Director, working with the wonderful volunteer teachers and caretakers. Together they share the truth and love of God with children from the Nursery to Grade School, and are excited to support parents in this. Children’s Ministry includes our Sunday School programs, Thursday night Kids Club (during the school year), and our VBS (every summer)! Cheyne is also the youth liason for our Missions Committee, which oversees most missional efforts of the church, including evangelism and outreach.

Cheyne is currently a lead teacher at a local Oakland County preschool, and has enjoyed that position since 2011. She has been teaching children since her early teen years, helping her father in his toddler Sunday School class every week. She has also taught oversees near Soweto, South Africa, at an Abandoned Children’s Home. Cheyne was saved at a young age, but became a more active evangelist and faithful disciple through her volunteer service with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. She was a student leader with IVCF both at Oakland Community College and Oakland University, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies, focus on Art Therapy. She met her husband, Michael, through IVCF, and they continue to study and live out God’s Word together.

Custodian/Maintenance Bill Smith

Bill worked 38 years at TRW until the plant closed in 2006. He then worked part-time until his sister, Marlene, told him that her Church (BHBC) needed someone to do maintenance. Bill was hired in 2007 and planned on only working a few years, but has been here for 13 years! Whenever Bill thinks about retiring, his wife (Gloria) says 3 words: “No You’re Not.’ Bill is an amazing employee who saves us money all the time. We are forever grateful for his service and contribution. Bill has 2 adult children and has been married to Gloria for 48 years. Bill also spent 4 years in the Navy during the Vietnam era. His passion is classic cars.

Associate/Youth Pastor David J. Lupinetti

David J. Lupinetti is our Associate and Youth Pastor at BHBC. He is currently responsible for the youth group (180) and young adult (Rooted) bible studies and fellowship. As well as serving in leadership with adult education and missions. David has a passion for Expository Preaching, Biblical Counseling, Discipleship, and Evangelism. David was born in Maryland. Although he grew up in a Christian home, he did not personally proclaim Jesus as His Savior until the Fall of 2011. He immediately fell in love with the Church and volunteered as a lay member serving with youth, young adults, and missions. Upon graduating with a B.S. in Finance, David worked (2012-2017) at Fannie Mae (Washington, D.C.) in the Accounting and Corporate Finance departments. While working he started to take night classes at The Master’s Seminary in Virginia. In 2017 he felt a deep calling to leave his career in Finance and attend The Master’s Seminary full-time in Los Angeles, CA (2017-2019). During Seminary he taught tennis at The Paseo Club and continued to be salt and light in the workplace. Upon graduating with his M.Div. he felt called to serve the Lord at BHBC. He is married to his wonderful wife Ana Luiza, who is from Brazil.  Favorite Bible verse is Mt. 28:18-20.

Administrative Assistant Karen McNab

Karen keeps the church running smoothly. She is the person you want to talk to about reserving a room, general information, or any practical question you might have about the church. She has an Associate Degree in Executive Secretarial Science.  Call the church office or email her and she will gladly help you out. Karen is a wife and mother of two young adults.

Custodian Peggy Romisch

Peggy considers it a joy to serve the Lord by providing housekeeping and cleaning services at BHBC. She has been cleaning homes for the past 28 years. She has been married for 30 years and has four grown children. In her spare time, you may find her running/power walking or playing her new favorite sport…pickleball. A fun fact about Peggy is that she has completed three Detroit full marathons!

Worship Director Keith Lawrence

Keith has traveled all over the world singing Southern gospel music with the Imperials,
the Cathedrals, and the Oak Ridge Boys. Keith obtained his Bachelors degree in music from Spring Arbor University and a Broadcasting degree from Specs Howard School of Broadcasting. He also studied trumpet under Chuck Ohlman. Keith is fluent in all instruments as well as a vocal trainer.

Currently he is the owner and singer for the national recording Christian group “OneAchord.”
